2025 JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION

On Sunday, June 22, 2025, SONGS OF BLACK FOLK returned to the iconic McCaw Hall at The Seattle Center, delivering an even more dynamic and immersive experience to a packed and energized audience.

This year’s production honored the rich musical traditions that originated on the African continent, endured the horrors of slavery, and became a lasting source of strength and resistance. From the rise of Negro Spirituals to the evolution of blues, jazz, gospel, R&B, hip-hop, and spoken word, SONGS OF BLACK FOLK once again showcased how Black music has shaped and influenced culture worldwide.

More than a performance, SONGS OF BLACK FOLK 2025 stood as a powerful testament to the resilience of a people who turned struggle into song. Through music, we connected the fight for freedom, justice, and dignity with the shared struggles of marginalized communities, offering a moving reminder of the enduring power of art to uplift, unite, and inspire meaningful change.
